Fall is my comfy season & this is what I’m loving right now

Before we get into the craziness that is the holiday season, but after the craziness that was my 2nd cancelled wedding and resulting elopement, I’ve been diving into some “me” time. It’s been great. I’ve made sure I can schedule naps and time to throw ball with Bentley (our pup) in the yard. On top of my always favorite gardening hobby, I’ve branched out and explored a few other things. Here they are!

  1. This local(ish) honey. We use honey a lot in this house. My husband puts it on his granola/yogurt breakfast. We cook with it for meat dishes. And I have started putting it in my coffee (wait what, yes I said coffee). Just a bit of sweetness without the dose of sugar.   2. My Vital Proteins Collagen powder. I use this every morning, in my coffee. I’ve tried a few others, but this brand dissolves the best and is truly flavorless. Why collagen? Well, for me, to support my arthritic joints and attempt to slow the joint damage and for my skin and nails. Also, it has 20 grams of protein, huge for anyone who works out as much as I do!
  3. Brene Brown’s The Gifts of Imperfection. I picked this up on a random Target run last month, not knowing the gold that I had dropped in my cart. I’ve made it a point to take time out to read, not only for my yoga teaching career (I have a ton of yoga book recommendations if you’re looking for some) but also for myself. This book has some really interesting looks into love, compassion, connection, and vulnerability. I’m only half way through it so far, but the pages I have read are marked up in the margins – a tell tale sign of a good read!

  4. Mashupmom.com – I tell EVERYONE about this site. If you live near an Aldi’s, don’t have the time or patience to meal prep, and want to keep your groceries on a budget – there is no better solution I’ve found. Every week, a new Aldi meal plan drops, for FREE. It includes a grocery list for Aldi’s that is around $60. That’s $60 a week to feed dinners for a family of 4 (in my house that means lunch leftovers). Did I also mention that a lot of the recipes are delicious?!
  5. Red Light Therapy at Redjuvenate. I SWEAR by this now. I’ve had 4 sessions and am headed to my 5th today. Recently I’ve stopped taking my Rheumatoid Arthritis medicine as my husband and I are attempting to start a family. Since I’ve removed the medication from my regime, my hand joint pain and fatigue has come back tenfold. After just 1 session of red light therapy I noticed a difference in my pain level in my hands, as well as the swelling and redness that even my medication didn’t work for.
