Our Approach to Membership Cancellations

Have you ever had a gym membership that you wanted to cancel but you found out that cancelling it required you to hand deliver a written letter of why you want to cancel? When you finally found time to show up and deliver it, you were met with more red tape, sales pitches, or a guilt trip from the business on why you shouldn't cancel.

We've been there. We've been in this industry long enough that we've seen it happen over and over.

And it's not okay.

Your membership should be your decision. Part of that decision includes your choice to end it. Without a guilt trip or need to explain yourself.

When we opened our studio, we knew that our cancellation experience was going to be simple and different than others we've experienced.

We know and expect that students will take breaks from our classes and cancel their membership. It's part of running a business and it doesn't mean anything about that student. We might be the best fit for you for a season of your life, and that might change, for a number of reasons. It's natural.

So what really happens when you want to cancel your membership?

You can fill out this form, email, call, or text and ask for me, Karyna (the owner). I'll respond by giving you a few options. Why do I do this? Because I've learned that not everyone knows all the options available. What are these options?

  • Freezing your membership once a year
  • Changing to a membership that might fit you better such as a Virtual Only membership, one with less classes each month for a lower rate, etc.

"But wait, that's a sales pitch Karyna?!"

It is, BUT here's the difference: I still cancel your membership and let you know the last date of your current billing cycle so you can still take classes until then. This means that you don't even have to respond if you don't want any of those other options. I always end the conversation with an open invite back, at anytime.

What more? We instilled this same idea into our New Student trial offer. You aren't enrolled into a package or membership at the end of your trial. We talk to you to see if we're a good fit and what would work best for you if you want to continue.

You don't have to hand write a letter and deliver it via certified carrier pigeon to cancel your membership at Triangle Foundry. It's your membership, and you are in total control of it. It's important that you have confidence when you start a membership with us that you know how you can cancel it and that you feel comfortable with your decision.
